A magical moment with Midnight

It was a Saturday morning in the middle of April 2009 when Mid awoke very early one morning (He usually did) and wanted to complete His "Lady in Winter" painting He was working on for Anita (AKA~ Oceansofatlantis~ who lives in Texas)… He needed something to finish the lightening strike from the Lady's  head... so we headed off to downtown St. Pete to a local art store to get the supplies... we spent about 45 minutes looking at brushes, acrylic paints, shipping material and other cool stuff. I reminded Him that He still needed to autograph the painting too, which was the most important part of the painting. He didn't disagree but was always forgetting to sign His paintings, unless reminded (His moon is in Pisces… sun sign Taurus).

We left the store shortly afterwards, buying some white, blue and brown paint. At the counter was a shelf of different colors of glitter, so we purchased a few tubes of gold and silver glitter too. When we got back home, His inspiration to paint was gone for the day and He said He'd work on later... ("Don't ask me about time" Mid's forte in life).... So He turned on the TV and we watched one of His favorite sitcoms, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" while eating an array of fresh fruits, assorted cheeses and crunchy veggies with dips and home made sauces (His specialty)... if you've ever watched Larry David… you would admire his sarcasm too… kind of a Don Rickles guy… you either hate him or love him... regardless… Mid re-enacted Larry David quite well... as well as Boris... He seemed to have a knack for mimicking both actors really well… and often Mid could be extremely funny and a great actor when He wanted to be...

Monday morning rolled around and I was off to my usual day at work. I get a call around lunch time from 'Boris" leaving me a message that says... "you must be an American woman... you work too hard'… After listening to the voicemail… I immediately called Mid back and asked Him what He was doing... He stated that He was completing Anita's painting... I told Him not to forget to sign His signature on it... He said OK... That evening when I get home from work... Midnight is sitting on the maroon sofa couch with the cutest look on His seemingly forever youthful face... covered in silver glitter from head to toe… especially His black hair and face....it's all over the couch… Himself... the floor... even my dog ~King~ who would never leave His side… (boy was my son~David~ever so jealous of that!!)... Mid showed me His finished product and much to my surprise… He shows me... His signature... not quite what I expected either... He signed it in 2" letters... He says to me... "Is this a good enough autograph?"...Midnight always kept me laughing… and as far as the glitter… some of it stayed on His face and hair and even on King for days on end...

Midnight~ what you left behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into our hearts… YOUR MEMORY LIVES ON... Forever loved... Fiercely missed… Never forgotten.....
